Peals and Quarter Peals
Peals and Quarter peals is extended ringing of methods. On a practice night a “touch” of a method can be rung. If this method is rung on 5 bells it comes out as 120 changes and last around 3 minutes. Peals and Quarters are when these touches are rung one after another giving an extended period of ringing. A peal for example is made up of 5,040 changes and can last for nearly 3hrs! A quarter peal is made up of 1260 changes and last for about 45 minutes.
The ringers of All Saints are asking members of the public to sponsor quarter peals to help us raise valuable funds to help keep the bells of All Saints ringing and to help teach the art of bell ringing to future generations.
