As we set out in our mission statement and vision for the tower, we want to help people discover the fascinating world of ringing. We hope that not only with this encourage more members of the public to come forward to learn but that they too will gain a better understanding of what happens up in the bell tower to produce the sound which is so familiar to the village. 

These pages have been created to give a brief overview of the history of the bells with reside in the impressive tower of All Saints as well as their smaller and younger counter part at St Mary Magdalene Beetley and the team of ringers who ring them.

The Ringers of All Saints

The All Saints Swanton Morley Bell Ringers were formed in 1999 to ring on the newly restored bells of All Saints Church.

Since those early days, the ringers have gone from strength to strength, growing in numbers and the standard of ringing getting higher.

We have ringers at various levels, from some taking their first steps to those who are more experience. We like nothing better than welcoming new members to the tower.

Our Regular Towers

Whilst All Saints Church Swanton Morley is our home tower, we also regularly supply ringers for weddings and special services at Beetley.

The two peals couldn't be more difference both in weight and handling however both provide fantastic learning opportunities.

A number of changes have taken place across the decades to result in the two current peals.

The Story of All Saints

Local historian David Stone has produced a serious of articles on All Saints Church Swanton Morley, the local area and some of the notable people connected with the church.

One of the many articles focuses on the day the tower was struck by lighting and the quick response to having lightening conductors fitted!
